Who we are
SHS Building & Groundworks is a construction contractor operating in Cumbria and the surrounding areas. For any question about your information, contact Sam Scott on 07512 806264 or at projects@shscumbria.co.uk.
What we collect
We collect the details you choose to give us: your name, phone number, email address, project location and the information you provide about your project, including any drawings or photographs you send. We do not collect special category data and we do not buy personal data from third parties.
Files you upload
Our enquiry forms let you attach plans, drawings, photographs, specifications and other project information. We use these only to understand your project, assess the work and respond to your enquiry. Anything you upload is stored privately and is only accessible to authorised SHS Building & Groundworks staff — it is never published, listed or shared publicly. If you would like an uploaded file removed, contact Sam Scott on 07512 806264 or at projects@shscumbria.co.uk and we will delete it.
Why we use it
Your details are used to respond to your enquiry, arrange a site visit, prepare a price and — if you proceed — to administer the work. This is on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and, where a contract follows, to perform that contract.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information. Where a project needs independent professional input — for example a structural engineer, quantity surveyor or surveying specialist — we share only what is necessary for that purpose. Service providers who host this website and our email may process data on our behalf.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept only as long as needed to deal with them. Records relating to completed projects are retained for as long as required for contractual, insurance, warranty and tax purposes.
Your rights
You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive a copy of it. Contact us using the details above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
This notice may be updated as the business or the website changes. The current version always appears on this page.
