How hire works
Availability is confirmed by a person
SHS is a working contractor first. Machines go out on hire around the company's own programme, so availability is always checked and confirmed by Sam rather than booked automatically.
- Tell us the machine, the dates and what the work involves.
- Sam checks the machine against the current programme and comes back to you.
- Hire is confirmed by phone or email — nothing is reserved until then.
- Delivery across Cumbria or collection by arrangement.
Two ways to hire
- Self-drive
- You supply a competent, appropriately trained operator. Suited to contractors, farms and businesses who already run plant.
- Operated hire
- Machine and SHS operator together. Often the sensible option for homeowners, one-off tasks and awkward sites where experience saves more time than it costs.
Hire rates are quoted per enquiry against the work, duration and location. No rate is published until SHS has confirmed it.
